Overall Satisfaction with IBM Cloud Object Storage

My organization mostly deals with data, where we do research and provide the required information to our clients. Because of the variety of the data, we need an unstructured database that can be easily accessible and scalable. Hence, we found out that BM Cloud Object Storage is the right choice for us to go with. One of the main use cases is data storage and data analytics.

Pros

  • Data archiving - store and manage large amount of data in archive form also.
  • Data analytics - stored data are processed for the analytics purpose.
  • It supports hybrid cloud storage and can be integrated with on-premises storage for more flexibility.
  • Backup and recovery.

Cons

  • Searching and retrieving—full-text search or metadata search—is one of the significant areas of improvement. It isn't easy to search for data with this.
  • Integration with other IBM cloud services is trickier. For example, integrating this with API Connect to access the data from API will be difficult for users.
  • Support - I think you should have more support community.
  • Since our database is very huge - it's cost saving for us.
  • Scalability—We don't necessarily always use all the data, and most of the time, pay-as-you-go pricing helps us reduce the cost.
  • Automation has made our lives easier, making our clients happier, and we are getting more clients.
Yes, it is definitely helpful to us. Particularly in my job role because I am leading the team here, which includes technical and business people as well as analytics developers. Not everyone is comfortable writing queries and getting back the data, so using existing queries to get the data is really helpful. But the problem is when we have to write complicated queries not present with the tool itself.
Frankly, I am not very close to this feature as of now, but I would like to see how it is helpful to my team and the company.
We are using a standard class for a frequently queried data set, which helps with fast response. We even have a cold vault where we put data that is used chiefly quarterly or yearly, which is cost-effective. We even have an intelligent tier, which is also in progress and probably will be implemented soon. This is really one of the cool features.
Amazon S3 has a more complex pricing model. It charges as per the requests, which will be more costly for us compared to IBM cloud object storage. The safety of our data is the main focus, and this is guaranteed with IBM.

We use Db2 and IBM cloud object storage, and our services are deployed using IBM Kubernetes.
Hybrid cloud storage makes this easier to use with an on-premises database. Backup and recovery are so easy that it feels like you can get the data back in no time. Backup can be scheduled automatically, and storage is not a problem here. Recovery can be done with the selected storage key.

we are working for the data migration facing unexpected issue then we reach to support time and there support engineer response in 40 minutes later they overtake the project and found the issue and resolve it they solve the problem at their end and also transfer script to us. After that its worked seamless.

Its scalability and performance optimization, critical application dependency, partial cloud storage to access from anywhere, its customer support, Large scale data migration, multi region deployement and easy to learn the process

10 - IBM cloud object storage is used in many function in mu organization basically we represent data storage and management function and media and entertainment where we are secure off site storage for disaster recovery and video streaming storage video content and large amount of data, Also worked on Image and audio storage in media format
5 - For the IBM cloud object storage basic technical skill should have cloud computing, object storage knowledge, scripting knowledge like Python poweshell, API integration and deployement and there role should be like Cloud storage administrator and cloud engineer, DevOps engineer with good communication skill problem solving skill analytical thinking an dif they have certification in like IBM cloud certified solution advisor
