Overall Satisfaction with Sprout Social

I work for an agency and we wanted a tool that was versatile to scale up or down based on client needs. We wanted it to do scheduling, ideation but also great reporting. Wanted it to be a one stop tool so we could reduce the amount of martech we have at the business.

Pros

  • Scheduling calendar is great
  • Interface is great
  • The suggestions are great (but add on)

Cons

  • Costs- so many tiers and add-ons
  • Social listening wasn't very comprehensive
  • Reporting could be more granular
  • It helped for scheduling time being in one place
In all honesty, we have moved away from using this tool although were in a contract due to the add-on elements. I think this should be made super clear by sales as I felt that we were sold a tool that could do a lot more than it could for the current plan we had been sold.
Super easy to setup and get integrated, this was a plus of the interface and this can be done on your own without an account manager as it is so simple. It also told you if anything was going to expire, which was great so that reporting was not impacted at all.
I really like the tools interface, the colouring was inclusive for people on the spectrum which is great. It wasn't overwhelming at all and could be navigated on its own without training really. This is always great for agencies when you are growing people out and don't have time for mass training.
I think all the tools have a great interface when it comes to the scheduling calendars as they are so easy to see and show stakeholders. It allows for logins to be accessed more securely accross wider teams too. I would say Oktopost had the best social media advocacy tool and Hootsuite has the best social listening aspects.

I really did like the tool and it worked well as a scheduling platform but a lot of platforms can do this. I also loved all the features such as the suggestions for content ideation but everything started to seem like an add-on and this drove the price up massively and the user element wasn't fit for an agency in my personal opinon.
