An essential accelerator for training in the insurance industry

Rating: 9 out of 10
March 27, 2025
“We use Flockjay primarily for training and empowerment of our insurance sales team. The platform helps us in three key areas: training new agents by sharing best sales and negotiation calls, structured coaching with customized feedback from managers, and centralized management of all training materials and sales resources. The most significant result has been the reduction of the training cycle from 2 months to 3 weeks, allowing us to have agents operational more quickly in the field.”
  • excels in semantic search and automatic tagging of training content, allowing any material or best practice to be quickly found even in a vast repository of resources.
  • Offers a highly effective two-way feedback system between representatives and managers, with the ability to request specific coaching on sales cases in real time
  • intelligently automate knowledge sharing, automatically surfacing the most relevant material for each stage of the negotiation in less than five seconds...
Cons
  • The user interface has some navigation problems, especially within the learning paths where the flow is not always intuitive.
  • the autosave feature is not available when creating courses and learning paths, causing potential loss of work
  • integrations with major CRM platforms could be improved to ensure smoother synchronization of data
Flockjay is particularly appropriate for training new insurance agents (especially when it comes to learning from real examples through recordings of the best calls!) creating structured learning paths for insurance products and negotiation skills, etc. flockjay is perhaps less appropriate for some when you need a simple platform just to share basic documents or the like, such as a CRM
  • Sharing the most effective sales calls allows new agents to learn from the best .👍👍
  • automated coaching enables managers to provide immediate and targeted feedback during negotiations allowing agents to continuously improve their sales performance👍
  • intelligent organizations of training content seems useful because it allows agents to quickly find specific information about insurance products or sales strategies when they need it during a negotiation.
  • Reduced training time for new agents
  • as a result of systematic sharing of best practices and real-time coaching, we have observed a 10-25% improvement in negotiation success rates for the most complex insurance products (we have little data...but that's the current statistic)
  • decreased time for training (to the benefit of time for sales).
is very subjective, depending on individuals' familiarity with computer software, let's say that it is on average easily usable by almost everyone, unless you have an old-fashioned salesperson in your sales network who hates computers...just so we understand each other. Average learning curve (complexive)
Flockjay has transformed our ability to optimize insurance sales team performance. For managers, the platform has provided tools to accurately identify each agent's areas for improvement, enabling targeted training interventions instead of feedback that is usually much more generic and ineffective. The knowledge capture and sharing system has created an environment where peer learning where the most experienced record and share their best sales calls, creating a library of real-world examples that newcomers can study! This is great (if then actually applied and studied by agents, of course. Especially best practices)
I evaluated several sales enablement solutions before choosing Flockjay. Previously, our agency used a combination of traditional lms and separate call recording tools, which created a fragmented experience for our insurance agents, and then actually didn't even use them to be honest...but we didn't use them for long, we were about to give up and go back to using no or minimal IT systems. The main difference I noticed is that Flockjay seems to be built with continuous learning and sales enablement specifically in mind, while other tools appear more geared toward performance monitoring or content management.

I am in charge of our GTM onboarding program and leverage Flockjay for our courseware to uplevel the skillsets for our new hires prior to joining us for our live bootcamp experience that is part of their onboarding experience. In addition, as they wrap up the live experience, there is additional courseware that is built in Flockjay to extend the runway of learning for roles anywhere from 60-90 days after their original hire date.
  • I can appreciate the level of detail available in the consumption reports to allow me to validate progress per learner
  • The platform is user-friendly, and most of my participants feel that it is simple to navigate to find the assets they are searching for in the just-in-time training
  • The exam functionality and visibility for my managers to partner with me in the onboarding experience is key.
Cons
  • It glitches all of the time. I cannot tell you how many times that I have personally experienced it or the users are sharing that course doesn't load or crashes as they are navigating through it
  • I don't like that a course can show 100% complete but the exam wasn't completed or graded to show actual completion for the participant. I require 100% completion before learners "earn the ticket to bootcamp," and they haven't done so if exams haven't been graded.
  • I have a hard time with managers doing their part. I have been told that emails are automated now to remind them but I am not sure if that function is taking place or not. Again, getting 100% completion and buy-in is hard enough, so if there are more automated options where the platform can help accomplish this, it would be welcomed with open arms.
  • Accountability with participation reporting and visibility
  • Automation in areas to cut back on manual time spent with reporting
  • Be stable. This has gotten better but something like being open on multiple browsers and causing performance issues has to come to an end.
  • It has let me level set knowledge before our organization makes the investment to fly new hires across the globe to learn in a live workshop-based environment
  • Again, the global audience it allows for the async learning to take place, and it allows our content team to be impactful as we create new learning targeted towards each role's needs
  • It helps unify our sellers by giving them the voice to use with its functionality of a social media platform, as there are examples of how specific tools have been used successfully in the field to fuel the peer-to-peer collaboration
I have recieved multiple survey results that have talked about how simple it was for new hires to consume our courseware and they appreciate how it breaks down our complex solutions into bite size pieces
With sales manager performance, the exams are key as it gives their new hires the opportunity to show application in how they are learning the new materials in an environment that is safe for the learner to show what they know and also give leaders various ways (video, text, rubric grading) to relay how the performance was evaluated.

I had shared the peer-to-peer learning in my previous response with the social media type of feel on the platform.
MindTickle had more advanced capabilities but has also been around a lot longer with its way of injecting competencies into its the framework for enablement.

In my opinion, Minimally Adequate

Flockjay is the LMS for internal sales enablement, internal technical enablement, and external customer education. We are forced to use Flockjay for everything related to learning.
  • I think Flockjay does several things adequately, but nothing particularly well.
  • .
  • .
Cons
  • In my experience, for content creators, the navigation is slow and burdensome. Routine tasks require going through several menu layers.
  • In my experience, for content consumers, the navigation and course presentation is clumsy and disorganized. Although this may be at least partially the fault of our internal admins. I'm not sure how much leeway the platform gives them.
  • Missing functionality: Flockjay has no API. It cannot be integrated with anything.
  • Missing functionality: Flockjay is not xAPI compliant
  • Missing functionality: Flockjay is not SCORM compliant
  • Missing functionality: You cannot import content. The only way to input text is by typing or copy-and-paste.
In my opinion, it is not appropriate for LMS use cases.
The platform was originally marketed as a "sales enablement" tool, and it may be adequate for that. You can type text and enter a link to a video. You can display images like charts or graphs, but there's no API, so the graphs are static images, not dynamic input. You cannot integrate it with a CRM or ERP. You cannot directly integrate it with a CMS. You cannot export student data.
  • Management decided to use Flockjay because the sales team was using it, so we already had a license. That appears to be the exclusive feature that was considered for making it the corporate LMS.
  • It seems to have positively impacted internal adoption of sales procedures.
  • MAU (monthly active users) has dropped precipitously in the customer community compared to our previous LMS. We can't get people to signup for the new platform.
I think it is adequate for sales, but not up to the task of an LMS. It's interface is clunky and the lack of API makes it nearly unusable for serious content creators.
Sales numbers are going up, but it is not clear how much of that can be attributed to Flockjay.

An amazing tool to ramp new hires

We have used Flockjay to share our sales meetings and negotiation calls. We had a lot of problems setting up time to teach new sales reps and ramp them up. This has helped new reps learn and grow from our calls and we could also set up some coaching tasks which enables us to train them with ease and kind off sets a schedule for it. I was content when I was using Flockjay.
  • Sales recordings
  • Scheduling coaching
  • Setting up tasks for new reps
  • Helping in the ramping of new AE's
Cons
  • Integrations with CRM platforms
It is especially useful if you don't have a system in place for training new sales reps. It streamlines these processes for you so that it can run in the back and you can easily use this to ramp new AE's up.
  • streamlining coaching tactics
  • Share negotiation calls with ease
  • ramp new sales reps
  • It has helped us in training new account executives with ease.
  • I has ramped up the sales training cycle from 2 months to 3 weeks.
It has an amazing UI. Also with a easy learning curve, it is pretty easy to understand and use. It took us a week to get used to the platform as such. I love how easy it is to streamline your tasks.
The best way to utilise Flockjay would be to first set up a schedule for training new sales reps. I would recommend starting off with product training ensuring that they are comfortable with the product. Share the product videos along with tasks for them to complete. Then we continue with enabling their sales conversations and help them in negotiations and answers to typical blocks they might face.

We use Flockjay to make our sales training and onboarding smoother. It helps us tackle issues like inconsistent training and long onboarding times. With Flockjay’s interactive lessons and real-time analytics, our sales team stays up-to-date with the latest skills and product info. We use it for everything from initial onboarding to ongoing education and tracking performance for all our sales reps.
  • Onboarding efficiency
  • Performance tracking
  • Consistent training
Cons
  • Could have more integration capability
  • Gamification elements to encourage users
  • Access whilst offline
When we have hired new consultants Flockjay can streamline the onboarding process with interactive training modules, ensuring all new hires receive best practice training to get them up to speed within the team. A situation in which it might not be appropriate is one in which integrations are relied upon heavily as Flockjay is lacking in some areas when it comes to integration function.
  • The content library
  • Sales playbooks
  • Real-time analytics
  • Consultants up to speed quicker - increased sales efficiency
  • Easy to share best practice between team members quickly
  • Better retention - less turnover
Flockjay is great for sales training and onboarding, offering many effective features that boost performance. However, it could be even better with more customization, a friendlier interface, better integrations, and improved mobile access. Fixing these areas would make Flockjay an even more valuable tool for our sales team. Overall, it’s a strong solution with room for growth.
Flockjay boosts sales manager performance through real-time analytics, aiding in pinpointing areas for improvement and personalized coaching. Structured training modules ensure consistent education, enhancing team proficiency in sales techniques and product knowledge. This results in a more knowledgeable and effective sales force, ultimately driving higher revenue and better customer satisfaction.
Flockjay is the solutions we went with because it offers a complete package for our sales team. We felt that whilst the other solutions could help the team with training, we felt that Flockjay could help the team engage better due to the interactive learning and real-time feedback. Unlike SalesHood, Flockjay is more personalised and engaging. Also compared to Seismic or MindTickle, Flockjay’s focus on teamwork means we learn from each other, not just from the platform. Ease of use is also important, it keeps us engaged and learning all the time.
