Overall Satisfaction with Intuit Mailchimp

We use Intuit Mailchimp to manage and send weekly email newsletters to our mailing list, which, as an event-based organization, is made up of our audience members. Our primary goals are to promote our upcoming events (both ticketed and free), communicate clearly with and receive feedback from patrons, and occasionally solicit donations. Newsletters typically include some form of video content (often interviews), spotlights of our collaborators, reviews and other media, and highlights of events in the wider community. We also send targeted pre- and post-event emails to share logistics and gather feedback. Mailchimp allows us to centralize these communications in a professional, branded format that’s easy to manage and customize, and easy to collaborate on when multiple departments are involved. We do track some metrics to gauge engagement and adjust content strategy accordingly, which is helpful, and we see potential for expansion into some of Mailchimp's automation tools, where they interface with our other software. The tagging and segmenting features are particularly important for our event-based communications. Overall, Mailchimp helps us maintain a consistent voice, build stronger relationships with our audience, and support both ticket sales and donor engagement through targeted, well-designed communications.

Pros

  • Mailchimp's user-friendly features make it easy to collaborate on professional content across departments, including with colleagues who may not have high-level design skills.
  • The email templates and ability to replicate past formatting make it easier to build visually engaging newsletters without starting from scratch each time.
  • Segmentation tools and particularly tags help us send targeted messages without having to manually filter our list.

Cons

  • While the drag and drop editor is very user-friendly, its functionality could be improved with advanced formatting options for more highly skilled designers or more specialized communications.
  • The ability to embed video or even short previews would be very helpful in a world now focused on video content.
  • We’d love to use more automation, but we’ve found that some of Mailchimp’s automation features don’t integrate well with some of the other platforms we use for ticketing and CRM.
  • Mailchimp has helped us maintain regular, high-quality communication with our audience, which supports both sales and development. Our newsletters consistently perform well in terms of open rates and clicks, and newsletters remain among our most effective outreach strategies.
  • Using Mailchimp has noticeably elevated the professionalism of our outreach, which has strengthened our organizational reputation over time and contributed to growth and stronger relationships.
  • From a workflow perspective, Mailchimp has saved us time and reduced reliance on designers or developers, which gives us time back to focus on strategy and engagement.
We’re not yet using Mailchimp’s more advanced CRM features or predictive tools, but even the basic audience segmentation options have been helpful. With basic tags and segments, we can tailor campaigns as a small team without needing a full CRM system. There’s definitely room to grow into some of the more powerful targeting capabilities as our campaigns become more complex.

We have not yet used Mailchimp's AI tools.
Mailchimp has scaled well with our growth as an organization without becoming overwhelming or requiring a major shift in tools or processes. As our audience has expanded, Mailchimp has kept pace—allowing us to manage a larger list without complicating workflow. It's easy to segment audiences to keep our messaging relevant. The platform’s user-friendliness helps additional team members to step in as needed, which supports collaboration without specialized training. We also know there are many more tools within Mailchimp to explore that can support our future growth.
It’s intuitive, easy to navigate, and doesn’t require a technical background to use effectively. The drag-and-drop editor makes creating branded emails simple even for a small team. Segmentation, campaign scheduling, and basic analytics are all easy to access and use. There are occasional quirks like formatting glitches in the email builder, limited flexibility in formatting, and some limitations around automation. But overall, it’s a reliable and accessible platform that helps us communicate effectively.
Basic built-in email tools from our database systems. Mailchimp provides far more flexibility in reporting and segmenting and professionalism in design.

Do you think Intuit Mailchimp delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Intuit Mailchimp's feature set?

Yes

Did Intuit Mailchimp live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Intuit Mailchimp go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Intuit Mailchimp again?

Yes

Mailchimp helps us stay in regular, meaningful contact with our audience at a macro level. It’s great for sending out timely, event-based messages that are visually branded and professional. But for long-term donor and patron stewardship—tracking relationships, tailoring appeals, and logging one-on-one interactions—it doesn’t go far enough on its own. Again, we struggle with the limitations of integrating Mailchimp with our other software, and without that data sync, we can’t take full advantage of automation or personalized flows. As a small team, we benefit from Mailchimp’s user friendly interface and low barriers to entry, but larger organizations might find features restrictive.
