I have been managing properties for 15 years, and our team has utilized MailChimp for various purposes. I particularly enjoy conducting drip marketing campaigns to find new leasing opportunities for apartments. Will continue to use this software for years to come. I recommend Mailchimp to businesses looking to increase their sales.
Pros
Mass emails.
Warehousing data.
Following up on leads.
Cons
Surveys
Mass texts.
Likelihood to Recommend
Small businesses looking to email a group of leads.
I am using Intuit Mailchimp for the Internal Communications purposes. We send internal emails with it also using variables i.e. for sending highly personalized communication. We also tailor the messages by using self-made templates that utilize custom HTML and CSS for improving the visuals and the impact of our messaging.
Pros
Managing the visuals of the email and adjusting responsiveness
Providing the ability to customize emails and use variables
The service is reliable and during several years we had probably one situation of some slow-down in delivery
Customer service is really good - we had situations in which we had to change the link and it was always done quickly
Cons
You could think about not only aiming for marketing but also internal comms as the tool could be even more tailored for such use cases but recent improvements i.e. getting rid of the limit of 5 aliases is really helping
I would like to be able to mix single emails and aliases in when pasting a list of emails
Intuit Mailchimp is not able to go deeper into aliases i.e. when I have an internal alias gathering all sub-aliases which, eventually have single emails, I will only go 1 level in depth and not all the mails will be fetched
Likelihood to Recommend
It's well suited when you need to create some customized email that includes adding own CSS etc. It's less appropriate when you aim for a tool that will make it easy to have a 2-way communication as this is quite complicated. Also - if you want a tool that shows CC, BCC etc. this is not the right one as it's not tailored for internal communications but for the external use within marketing.

We are a not for profit organisation and we use Mailchimp to send monthly newsletter (and occasionally fundraising emails) to our supporters, or to advertise some of our events, and we also have specific newsletters for two of our centers and/or sub-audiences (followers of our network, press releases for media)
Pros
sending emails automatically to our contact list
divide different categories of people in separate audiences
follow who opens / don't open our emails
Cons
sometimes people get unsubscribed automatically from our emails simply because there might be a temporary problem between Mailchimp and their email server... It's nearly impossible to put them back in
when the two-steps sign in is in place (I disabled this recently) many people do not click on the "confirm your registration" email. Either the email lands in their spam box, and/or (in our case) the name of the email was misleading and we have lost a lot of people who never confirmed. And it's impossible to see people who are "pending" and to send them a reminder
it's very difficult to re-register once one has unsubscribed from a mailing list
it would be good to be able to "validate" before people are "cleaned" from Mailchimp (as it's sometimes by mistake)
it is too expansive (even with a 10% discount as a non profit) (and I was not told I could get a discount until several years after I had subscribed)
Likelihood to Recommend
it's good for people who just want to send emails to supporters or clients ;
it is not so good for people who need a proper CRM (too bad that Mailchimp does not allow people who don't have emails to be registered on database as the email is the unique identifier).
We use Intuit Mailchimp to send out emails, event updates, and business updates to our customer list. We like to keep our customers up to date with that is going on within the business. We also use Intuit Mailchimp to collect email addresses using the pop-up automation feature on our website.
Pros
Templates
Test email options before sending
customizable
Cons
Clearly separating email addresses that are not valid or unsubscribed
Clearly separating paind templates from free templates
Clearly stating the monthly pricing options
Likelihood to Recommend
Intuit Mailchimp is great for weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly emails. Intuit Mailchimp can use improvement when allowing a freelancer or contractor access to the account to create content for the account owner. That is not easy to set up and the instructions are not clear when listed on the Intuit Mailchimp website. Also when I called in for assistance the representative was not familiar with this option.
I run an online store selling [...] Oil based products for health, wellness and beauty. I use Intuit Mailchimp to gather new contacts, run automated cycles of emails to introduce and educate our customers and email out monthly sales promotions. There are many automated functions and assists that make this job much easier then it was 10 years ago when I started with them. I highly recommend Intuit Mailchimp to anyone who wants to grow their customer base and create great customer relations.
Pros
The automation system is intuitive and highly customizable
The resend to unopened function saves a lot of time
The new Pop-up function has great functionality. In the past I had to pay for 3rd party apps to get these functions.
Cons
I would like to use Intuit Mailchimp to also gather integrated catalog request info to print labels and integrate the info to customer contact instead of using Jot forms. I wasn't able to do that last time I looked, but it is possible I can now since they have improved the platform.
Likelihood to Recommend
The automated function has allowed me to send a series of emails to first time buyers introducing our company, letting them know what to expect in shipping and what our return policies are, then kick them into another series (if they haven't gotten them yet - they might have if they signed up for emails but hadn't actually purchased) which I call [...]101 - this series slowly sends them info on the different properties, benefits and uses of [...] Oil and [...] Oil enhanced properties. I have another series that addresses people who have not opened emails in a certain period of time to encourage them, and one for people who read the emails but haven't made a purchase. Intuit Mailchimp allows these series to work together and not overwhelm my customer inbox or send them anything that is not appropriate.
Mailchimp is my primary CRM tool and allows me as a solopreneur to better organize, communicate and automate my communications with my audience more effectively and consistently. I have a small audience and a small budget, but the Mailchimp platform itself provides great resources and tools that help me build my brand and nurture my audience despite my small size. Additionally, Mailchimp offers a number of additional educational opportunities to improve my marketing skills and increase conversion.
Pros
Ease of creating emails
Integration with other platforms
Offering suggestions and tips throughout the applications
Cons
Creating landing pages seems to have a totally different feel and experience than creating emails.
There is a kink in the journeys/automations. When I update emails with new graphics or info, the original email stills shows up on the preview. However, the correct e-mail is sent out when I do test e-mails.
The Canva integration/sync is nice, but takes a minute to load. I expect that will improve with time.
Likelihood to Recommend
Other solopreneurs like me with a small budget, but want effective tools and great support and resources.

we send out newsletters for two different businesses. Intuit Mailchimp has been easy to use and navigate. don't always like the upgrades, gets a bit complicated, but we have built a mailing list that continues to grow. and we do learn and appreciate the analytics, this has helped us refine and improve our newsletters.
Pros
designs email
makes suggestions to improve
provides good analytics to help understand who is opening your newsletter
Cons
when you make changes, make it easier to understand!
make it easier to duplicate a campaign
Likelihood to Recommend
super helpful with the small audience we have been reaching. we need to improve and get more people on the list. this would be helpful but not sure Intuit Mailchimp can help here... love more design options, but appreciate how eady it is to navigate
We have been using Mailchimp for our organization's dealer communications for many years. It is flexible, dependable, and provides great tracking details. Over the years, we have expanded our use to promote industry events and follow-up email campaigns for our e-commerce site. Drag-and-drop templates make changing design and content a quick task, which is huge with busy schedules.
Pros
Contact tracking.
Flexible drag and drop.
Detailed statistics on email campaigns.
Cons
Trouble shooting.
Accurate stats.
No other issues.
Likelihood to Recommend
Mailchimp is great for sending emails to a large, constantly changing contact list. Its ability to clean up inactive users saves time from manually removing them one by one. Also, the flexibility to add large groups or contacts one by one on the fly gives great flexibility. We currently have five different lists that are easily maintained through the audience section.
It is the primary method by which we reach our contacts via email. Typically, we send 20-25 mass emails per month.
Pros
Create attractive emails
manage contacts
report on opens/clicks
Cons
Connectivity with Wix
Connect with Paypal
Connect with Quickbooks
Likelihood to Recommend
Our primary use is contacting folks about upcoming events at the museum. It would be helpful if it interfaced directly with our Wix website, allowing us to drag and drop events, etc. directly into the email rather than create them fresh when we build the email.
